Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, leading a crew, and ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

The Lead Carpenter is the on-site leader and plays a key role in keeping projects on schedule and within budget.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform rough and finish carpentry to a high standard within allotted timelines
  • Lead and supervise a team of carpenters and labourers on-site
  • Coordinate daily tasks and ensure efficient workflow
  • Communicate clearly with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and clients
  • Stay up to date on project scope, schedules, change orders, and revisions
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and project specifications
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times
  • Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
  • Hold team members accountable for performance, conduct, and workmanship
  • Problem-solve on-site issues independently and proactively
  • Oversee and coordinate subcontractors as needed
  • Track and report progress, including maintaining accurate job records

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of carpentry experience
  • Proven experience in custom home building or residential renovations
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and best practices
  • Knowledge of job site safety standards and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions on-site
  • Valid driver’s license required
