At CI, we see a great place to work as one that is a safe place for everyone to have a voice, where people are empowered to take ownership over meaningful work, where there is an opportunity to grow through stretching themselves, where they can work on innovative products and projects, and where employees are supported and engaged in doing so.

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a CIRO / OSC regulated firm, with a strong emphasis on regulatory reporting and disciplined execution. This role is well suited for a recent CPA or CPA candidate near completion who is ready to take ownership of core accounting processes and build deep experience within the Canadian wealth management industry.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Execute daily and monthly accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and variance analysis
  • Play a key role in the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Prepare and support CIRO and OSC regulatory reporting, including recurring financial and compliance-related filings
  • Support Net Capital calculations and ongoing monitoring of capital adequacy requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Maintain supporting schedules and documentation to ensure audit and regulatory readiness
  • Work closely with Compliance and Operations teams to ensure consistency between accounting records and regulatory submissions
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of working papers and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency as the business grows

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • CPA designation completed or near completion (CPA Canada), with demonstrated progress toward certification
  • Solid foundation in accounting principles and IFRS
  • Exposure to regulatory reporting in a CIRO and/or OSC regulated environment
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting and reporting systems
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to manage recurring deadlines

Preferred / Asset Experience

  • Experience in asset management, wealth management, investment dealers, or portfolio management firms
  • Familiarity with CIRO rules, capital calculations, and regulatory filing requirements
  • Experience supporting audits or regulatory reviews

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Enjoys being close to the details and owning core accounting responsibilities
  • Comfortable operating in a structured, deadline-driven environment
  • Proactive, accountable, and eager to continue building technical accounting expertise
  • Communicates clearly and works well with cross-functional partners
  • Motivated to grow into increased responsibility over time
