Canadian Bearings is looking for a Payroll, Benefits and Compensation Specialist to deliver compliant payroll and benefits administration while serving as a trusted point of contact for employees across the organization.

What you’ll own (day-to-day)
- Process accurate and timely full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and reconciliations, in partnership with external service providers
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee payroll and benefits inquiries, delivering clear, responsive, and professional customer service
- Maintain current knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory deductions, reporting requirements, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance
- Prepare and support year-end payroll activities, including T4s, ROEs, audits, and required government reporting
- Ensure data integrity within payroll and benefits systems by auditing records, reconciling discrepancies, and proactively identifying issues or risks
- Collaborate closely with the Human Resources team to support employee lifecycle changes and continuous improvement of payroll and benefits processes
- Liaise with external payroll and benefits service providers
- Support payroll- and benefits-related inquiries throughout the employee lifecycle
Who you are (must-have)
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in payroll and benefits administration
- Strong knowledge of payroll functions, employment legislation, procedures, and relevant regulations
- Proven ability to apply evidence-based decision-making with a strong customer service mindset
- Clear and effective communication skills in English; French is considered an asset
- High attention to detail with the ability to recognize, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Strong problem-solving skills with a logical and solution-oriented approach
- Working knowledge of payroll and benefits systems and related reporting requirements
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including the use of formulas
- Experience with HRIS, UKG, and workforce management systems is considered an asset
- Payroll designation (PCP or CPM) from the National Payroll Institute is preferred

Compensation
$55,000 - $85,000
Canadian Bearings provides the salary range for this position to promote fairness and transparency. The range reflects the anticipated base pay for the role; however, actual compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
