Reporting to the Director, Tax, the successful candidate will be responsible for the tax function in US. This position ensures accurate record keeping, developing efficient practices, tax strategies and procedures, ensuring accurate and timely filing of income and franchise tax returns, estimated payments, annual report filings and accurate reporting in the financial statements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial performance, optimize processes, and lead key business initiatives. This role requires strong technical knowledge of US tax laws, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external advisors. What you'll do: Managing the preparation of US tax filings, federal and state. Preparing and reviewing the US federal and state income tax provision computations with a focus on completeness, technical and computational accuracy and efficiency Researching and analyzing complex tax issues to provide timely and accurate solutions to the business. Supporting the preparation of transfer pricing policies and documentation Managing tax forecasting for the US and identifying strategic tax planning activities Assisting with tax-related projects including financing and M&A tax due diligence. Reviewing non-resident withholding tax payments and annual returns Managing income tax audits, including review and coordination of data collection, analysis and communication between tax personnel and tax authorities or external consultants Effectively communicating data and findings to important decision makers and stakeholders to drive strategic business decisions    What you bring: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, with preference for a master’s in taxation CPA Accounting designation Minimum 7-10 years of post-qualification-related experience; Industry experience is an asset. Prior managerial or supervisory experience. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Self-motivated, organized and able to manage multiple priorities. Team player and willing to learn and continuously improve. Demonstrated expertise in cross-border tax compliance for Canadian and U.S. entities. Proven ability to design, implement and document tax compliance processes and controls. Strong written and oral communication skills and attention to detail. Strong Excel skills required, experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx) is an asset Salary: $110,000 - $152,000 annually (based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geography).   Eligible employees may earn performance-based incentives and have access to comprehensive benefits and retirement plans with matching contributions.
